Birchbox "Creativity" March 2015

Birchbox “Creativity” March 2015

March’s Birchbox had a “Creativity” theme. Birchbox is $10 for about 5 beauty or lifestyle products, usually deluxe samples but sometimes you get a full sized product.

amika Bombshell Blowout Spray – I’m interested to give this a try. I’ve been frizz prone lately so something that promises a nice smooth blowout sounds awesome. The full size is $24 for 8 oz so this 1 oz sample is worth $3.

Lightweight styler that volumizes, smooths, and protects for a sleek yet bouncy ‘do.

Cargo Swimmables Water Resistant Blush in Los Cabos – The idea of a water resistant blush is pretty awesome. This shade is a very pigmented orangey coral which might be gorgeous on someone with a bit more pigment to their skin but on me it’s rather orangey. The full size is $26 for 0.37 oz so this 0.11 oz sample is worth about $7.73.

This water-resistant pigment says put and gives skin an effortless glow.

Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint in Pearl – I was expecting an actual tint to this moisturizer. It looks flesh colored coming out of the tube but once blended out there’s really no pigment to it, just shimmer. It’s pretty but I think applying it all over like a moisturizer is meant to be applied would lead to a pretty shimmery face. The full size is $40 for 1.7 oz so this 0.17 oz sample is worth $4.

This oil-free SPF 20 formula nourishes skin and adds a dewy, natural-looking glow.

Number 4 Clarifying Shampoo – I always find it a little weird to get a shampoo or conditioner without the other. It is sulfate and paraben free and claims not to strip color so I might actually try this one. With my colored hair I generally am not able to sample the shampoo and conditioner products I receive but this one might be worth a shot. The full size is $32 for 8.5 oz so this 1 oz sample is worth about $3.76.

Vitamin-rich botanicals gently purify hair while restoring lost moisture and shine.

StriVectin Instant Retexturizing Scrub – I’m always down for a new exfoliating product and StriVectin is a pretty good name in skincare. The full size is $29 for 3.3 oz so this 0.75 oz sample is worth $6.59.

This high-tech formula buffs away dirt, oil, and dull skin for a fresh, bright complexion.

This box has a value of about $25.08 which is right around my average box value for Birchbox. I’ll definitely use most of the products from this box though I might end up swapping the blush since it’s a tad orange on me. Unfortunately that’s the highest value sample in this box. I’m not really sure how they selected the products for this month. Nothing in my box really says “Creativity.”
