Notoriously Morbid Vanishing Cabinet February 2015 “All the Men I Can’t Have”

This is my second month receiving the Notoriously Morbid Vanishing Cabinet and it continues to impress me! This month’s theme was “All the Men I Can’t Have: British Edition” with each of the 5 shades based on a British hunk we can’t have. Love it!

With the month of love in mind, we created “All The Men I Can’t Have” British Edition. It was very hard to narrow them down but we have to admit, we enjoyed putting them together for you. Last months Pureheart went a little wonky so we’ve included a reformulated version for you “Pureheart (2)”. “Dear Diary” is our first Crush Kisser lip balm (same Coffin Kisser formula), we hope you enjoy it!

I really appreciate them including the reformulated Pureheart! It says a lot about their pride in their product and for taking care of their customers. All of my interactions with Notoriously Morbid have been really great! I’m trying something new with my swatches this month; I’m swatching each color 3 times over 3 different bases. Let me know if you find that helpful!

Captivating Cumberbatch – “Inspired by none other than the graceful Benedict Cumberbatch, we created a shimmery shadow that falls on the plum end of the taupe spectrum.” This is by far my favorite shade  in the batch! It’s a cool toned plummy taupe with pinkish plum shimmer. I’m in love with this. Can I bathe in it? I wish I could get a hold of it in full size; I’d buy 3!

Enticing Elba – “Idris Elba has that certain something and we liked it so much, we made this cornflower blue shadow with sexy copper shimmer.” This was the shade sent as a teaser in the January VC and I adore it just as much now as I did then. It’s a lovely cornflower base though I find the shimmer to be a little more pink than copper. Swatched over a black base the copper really comes out though! Swatched over a white base the blue is much brighter.

Hell Hot Hardy – “One of the most talented actors of his generation and not too hard on the eyes, this Tom Hardy inspired shadow offers up a dusty blue with glowing blue shift.” My eye s see this as a dusty blue-green leaning more green than blue with a bright blue shift, but then again I saw the dress as white and gold so my eyes may be suspect haha. This is a gorgeous shade but it definitely benefits from a white base to punch up the color. Over primer alone it’s a little subtle for my taste. A black base really brings out the blue in this!

Handsome Hiddleston – “Yes, this is a shadow for Tom Hiddleston. And yes, you know you love this splendid true emerald green with majestic gold and green shimmers.” This color is Loki in a jar. It’s loaded with sparkles and to die for! It’s incredibly pigmented and very dark – note that there’s not a big difference between the three swatches below. This shade does stain a bit so a good primer is a must!

Lustful Lincoln – “We find ourselves pulled to Andrew Lincoln and his quiet magnetism. While we can never have him, we try console ourselves with this vivid orange with red shimmers.” This bright orange might not be for everyone but I love it! The shimmer is considerably muted over a white sticky base and that is there is more orange than red to me. Over the UDPP the shimmer is red and fabulous! A black sticky base turns it into a gorgeous deep copper. This shade is definitely a winner in my collection!

Crush Kisser in “Dear Diary” – This is an untinted lip balm along the lines of their Coffin Kissers. The scent and flavor are supposed to be that of a grape candy. I’ve never much liked grape candy even as candy so this is a miss for me. It definitely smells like grape candy. There was an issue with the flavoring so it doesn’t taste very great but even still I wouldn’t have used it much. I do like how moisturizing the formula is though!

Lover’s Sigh – This is the sneak peek for next month which is a Game of Thrones theme! It’s a dusty-ish purple with violet shimmers. This color is right up my alley and I look forward to getting it next month!
