Birchbox February 2015

Birchbox February 2015

For February’s box I chose the guest editor box curated by Rent The Runway. This is my first time opting for a guest editor box.

derma e Anti-Wrinkle Vitamin A Glycolic Scrub – This is one of the items I was most interested in getting! I’m really interested in anything that will clean out my pores and help fade dark spots! The 4 oz full size retails for $12.75 so this 1 oz sample is worth about $3.19.

This all-natural cleanser sloughs off dull skin, fades dark spots, and cleans pores.

Fekkai Blowout Hair Refresher Dry Shampoo – Dry shampoo is a staple in my routine! In order to preserve my color and hair health I only wash it 2-3 times per week so I go through quite a bit of this stuff and am always happy to try a new brand! The 4.9 oz full size is worth $20 so this 1.7 oz sample is worth roughly $6.94. $20 is a little steep given that my holy grail dry shampoo is only $8.99 but I’m open to being blown away!

This transparent spray absorbs oil, perks up strands, and leaves hair smelling amazing.

Not Soap, Radio Body Wash – Body washes in subscription boxes generally don’t thrill me but with a scent named “The stuff that Cupid dips his arrows in (because sometimes fate needs an assist)” I was intrigued. This stuff really does smell amazing and even though blackberry vanilla isn’t a new scent combo this might be my favorite take on it. After checking out the full line though I’m intrigued by many of the other scents, too. The full size is $16 for 13.61 oz so this 1.5 oz sample is worth $1.76.

With this cleanser’s lush blackberry and vanilla scent, you’ll fall in love at first sniff.

Sumita Color Contrast Eyeliner in Raina – I’m kind of over getting eye liner minis in subscription boxes. This is a navy blue shade. I can count on one hand the number of times in the last year I’ve worn blue eyeliner and not even use all my fingers so I’ll probably end up swapping this one. The 0.06 oz full size retails for $11 so this 0.024 oz sample is worth $4.40.

This soft wax pencil delivers rich, long-lasting color that won’t irritate eyes.

theBalm Read My Lips in BAM! Rose Pink – I’ve been intrigued by theBalm’s products for a long time. Their packaging is adorable and it seems like a fun brand. I haven’t worn this gloss yet, but it swatched a pretty shade. The full size is $15 for 0.3 oz so this 0.08 oz sample is worth $4.

Fortified with antioxidant-rich ginseng, this gloss brings rich color and loads of shine.

This was a pretty solid box and aside from the navy eyeliner I’m really happy with it! The box also came with a Rent The Runway code for $30 off a $75 order which is a nice touch. Honestly I probably won’t use the coupon so for me the value of the box is based on the actual products included which is $20.29.
