Boxycharm “Jingle Belles” December 2014

I’m woefully late on this review but December’s Boxycharm box was pretty stellar! Boxycharm outdid themselves on this one. Loaded with items to make you the belle of every jingle ball, this box is probably one of the best I’ve gotten.

Coastal Scents Revealed Palette – An eyeshadow palette of this size in a subscription box is crazy! I generally find Coastal Scents shadows to be of mediocre quality but this palette looks fairly nice and to be a departure from many of their other shadows. It has 6 matte shades and 14 shimmers in all neutral colors. To be honest, Revealed 2 is more my color style. I’m still trying to decide if I’m going to gift this or keep it, so I won’t be playing with it until I decide. This palette’s “List Price” on the CS site is $39.95 though CS stuff is on perpetual sale and this palette is currently going for $19.95 as of this post.

Lina Lashes Luxury Mink Lashes – I was a little put off when I saw that real mink lashes were going to be included in the box, but the Lina packaging says it’s cruelty free so I was actually really excited once I saw that. My faux lash game isn’t exactly on point but these babies make me want to perfect it! These lashes retail for $30.

Mistura Beauty Solutions Retractable Beauty Brush – One can never have too many makeup brushes. I really like the fact that this one is retractable and the cap fits nicely so I don’t have to worry about making a mess in my makeup bag if I travel with it. This brush is worth $19.99.

Be a Bombshell Cosmetics Lipstick in Hollywood – The lipstick arrived damaged unfortunately. The lipstick had completely come out of the holder and was rattling around in the cap. I was able to push it back into the tube with minimal effort but I’m not sure how well it’ll stay there and that makes it less likely to be able to be traded. This is supposed to be a “rich classic red” but it looks kind of orange to me. Not sure if I’ll get any use out of it. I’m also a little over Be a Bombshell stuff in my sub boxes. This lipstick retails for $14. I think this item was different from box to box as it looks like some folks got The One Stick (also from Be a Bombshell) instead.

Eva NYC Hold Me Tight Hairspray – I think this item was also variable as some seem to have gotten the Eva NYC Shampoo instead. I don’t use a whole lot of hairspray so the travel sizes I get in  boxes are pretty much enough to get me through the year. I won’t be using this any time soon, but as soon as I use up my current sub box travel hairspray this one will come out. I’ve heard good things about Eva NYC products. The 10 oz full size goes for $24 on the Eva NYC website but for around $12 at Kohl’s, Amazon, and Drugstore.com. Using the lower price, this 1.5 oz sample is worth about $1.80.

This box has a total value of $85.74 which is less than my November box, but still pretty darn good. Boxycharm is my most expensive subscription but the value is always there!
