January’s Boxycharm box arrived last week but I’ve been swamped with stuff and neglected to post. Here it is now though! Welcome to January’s “Celebrate in Style” box!

Boxycharm generally includes 5-6 deluxe or full sized products every month and costs $21 per month. They always include a card with a description of the items in the box.

This month’s box contained 5 full sized items!

Beauty For Real The Perfect Pencil – This isn’t exactly “the only lip liner I’ll ever need” but the color’s not bad. It’s kind of a brownish red. This pencil is full sized and is said to retail for $14.

The only lip liner you will ever need! This special shade complements and enhances the natural shape of your lips for the perfect pout. How To: Line your lips and pair with your favorite lipstick or gloss.

Beauty For Real True Color Lip Cream in “Always There” – This lip cream looks nice and smooth and the color is great. While I wasn’t expecting a matte finish I was expecting it to dry down at least a little bit; the swatch on my hand never really did dry down though despite leaving it on for an hour so it stayed wet and slippery more like a pigmented gloss than a liquid lipstick. The cool thing is that there’s a mirror on one side of the rectangular tube and the wand has a light in it so you can see what you’re doing even in the dark. Gerard Cosmetics glosses have this but it’s the first I’ve seen it anywhere else. This is full sized and retails for $22.

You lips, only better. This color enhances and defines your lip color for a gorgeous, natural look. How To: Apply to lips anytime, anywhere with this incredible light-up lip cream!

Mirabella Face Prime – As an oily skinned and big pored girl I can’t live without a primer of some kind and I’m always happy to be able to try a new one. This is a pretty tiny tube, but it is apparently full sized. I haven’t tried it on my face yet but on the back of my hand it seemed very wet and slippery going on and left a smooth surface that wasn’t quite as matte a finish as I’m used to with other primers. This full sized tube is worth $29.

Infuse your skin with Vitamin E while minimizing the appearance of large pores and fine lines with this silky smooth face primer. How To: This primer slides on the skin creating the perfect base for any foundation. Avoid lash-line, use sparingly.

Pur-lisse Skin Sparkle Flash Tattoos – Apparently 1 sheet of these is full sized and retails for $12. I get that they’re all the rage now and they’re a fun addition to the box but to me they’d be more of a bonus item than a real full or deluxe size main item. I’m not complaining too much though as the rest of the box has a huge value.

Instantly sparkle with jewel-like tattoos! Apply anywhere on skin to glam up any day or night look! How To: Clean and dry skin before application. Place tattoos face down on skin. Hold a wet cloth for 30-45 seconds, then peel off and gently pat. Allow tattoo to sit for 10 minutes.

Tarte Maracuja Bronzing Serum – I’ve always wanted to try Tarte’s Maracuja serum but unfortunately I don’t tan or bronze (hello orange skin!) so the Bronzing version is a total miss for me. That being said the value is huge and I’m pretty sure I won’t have any problem at all swapping this. Here’s hoping someone’s got the original version and is willing to swap for it! I do think it’s a little dangerous for the highest value item in a box to be something that only some people can use. This full sized item is worth $47!

Hydrate and even skin tone to help fight signs of aging for a firmer, brighter appearance. The gradual self-tanning complex delivers instant radiance as it naturally bronzes for a healthy, glowing complexion. How To: Dispense 2-3 drops of the serum in your hands and apply to clean, dry skin on the face and neck. For best results, use daily and wash hands immediately after application.

This box also came with a coupon for the Tarte website for 20% off. Use code “BOXYJAN” between 2/3/15 and 2/12/15.

This box had a total retail value of $124 which is stellar! Even though most of that value is from a product I can’t use, I’m still really happy with it (and I shouldn’t have a problem swapping the serum). Every month I consider dropping Boxycharm as it’s my most expensive subscription, but then I get my box and the value is always insane!

You can check out my past Boxycharm reviews here or subscribe to Boxycharm here. Boxycharm seems to have instituted a waitlist. I’m not sure if there are any workarounds to get off the list at this time.
