Sample Society Mystery Boxes

Self-Purchased

Sample Society was running a deal on 3 mystery boxes. There were 3 levels: 15 products for $25, 10 products for $15, and 5 products for $10. Each box had 2 different versions. I got both of the $25 boxes with free shipping and used my monthly $10 off coupon from my September Sample Society box to pick up all of this for $40. I think this counts as a haul, no? There are a couple repeat products in both boxes, but of the 30 samples there are 27 unique products and the two boxes have a combined value of about $306; not bad for a $40 purchase!

Allure Mystery Box – September 2014 – Box A 2

This is Box A. It’s a great selection of products! I’m pretty sure I’ll use every item here; there’s not a dud in the lot! This box has about a $163 value.

Borghese Splendore Brightening Makeup – This is very shimmery and more a highlighter than a brightening foundation type product. I’m not entirely comfortable with liquid/cream highlighters but we’ll see how this does.

Alterna Caviar CC Cream leave-in hair Perfector – I sampled the Alterna Caviar Protein cream recently and loved it so I’m excited to try another Alterna Caviar product!

Illume Travel Candle in Balsam and Cedar – This candle smells so amazing! I don’t even want to burn it, I just want to keep it in the tin and smell it all the time.

Lorac Perfection Mattifying Face Primer – I’ve been wanting to try Lorac products for forever and I’m a huge primer junkie so I’m really excited to give this a try

Jane Iredale Lash Extender and Conditioner – I’m always down to try any product that’s supposed to elongate my lashes!

Jane Iredale Mascara – I need more mascara like a need a hole in the head, but this just means I won’t have to buy any for awhile.

Sonya Dakar Flash Facial – I’m starting to get more into exfoliators and peels so I’m interested to see how this works for me.

Oscar Blandi Texture & Volume Hair Spray – I don’t use a ton of hair spray so I probably won’t get to this in awhile.

Murad Age Reform for Eyes – Eye creams are my obsession right now and Murad is a great brand so I have high hopes for this.

L’Occitane Immortelle Precious Cream – I’ve liked every L’Occitane product I’ve tried so I’m happy to try this out and expand my horizons.

Murad Pore and Line Minimizing Hydrator – A pore minimizer from Murad? Sign me up! Can’t wait to try this.

Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Repair CC Cream – Juice Beauty seems to have been all over lately. I haven’t found a CC cream that I’ve really liked so far so hopefully this one will be great!

H2O+ Oxygenating Rejuvenator – This night cream looks pretty cool.

Yu-Be skin Cream – I’ve never heard of this brand before. This is a tiny sample so I probably won’t get much use out of it.

Caudalie Radiance Serum – I’ve never tried Caudalie before either so I’m happy to finally have something of theirs to try out.

Here’s Box B. Also a winner! This box has a value of about $143.

Illume Travel Candle in Anemone – This candle smells just as great as the other!

Lorac Perfection Mattifying Face Primer – This is the same product as in Box A.

H2O+ Oxygenating Rejuvenator – This is the same product as in Box A.

Sonya Dakar Flash Facial – This is the same product as in Box A.

Butter London Nail Polish in Bobby Dazzler – I’ve heard rave reviews of Butter London’s polishes but have never tried them before myself so I’m stoked to have this one. It’s a gorgeous silver for the holiday season!

Alterna Bamboo Volume Spray – Most volumizers I’ve tried before have made my hair sticky and kind of gross. I really like the Alterna products I’ve sampled before though so I’m hoping this spray is good!

L’Erban Essentials Aromatherapy Towlette in Lavender – I’m not a big fan of lavender scents. This is going in the swap pile.

Borghese Gentle Makeup Remover – I’m always looking for a better makeup remover to add to my skincare routine. Happy to give this one a shot.

Oscar Blandi Hair Lift Thickening & Strengthening Mousse – I’m not a big mousse user but Oscar Blandi’s a well reviewed brand so I’m willing to give this a shot.

Erno Laszlo New York Phormula 3-9 Repair Balm – This is supposed to nourish and repair your skin to help with scars, burns, sun burn, and wounds. Sounds interesting!

Murad Essential C Day Cream – My skin can always use more Vitamin C!

Philosophy Hope in a Jar Night Cream – I’ve been eyeing the Hope in a Jar line at Ulta and Sephora my last few visits so I’m over the moon to have a sample to try out before I purchase.

Purlisse Face Moisturizer – I’m questing to find a good moisturizer so this will definitely be on my to try list.

Juliette Has a Gun Perfume in Anyway – I’ve heard good things about Juliette Has A Gun perfumes but this one definitely isn’t a good fragrance for me.

Tatcha Japanese Beauty Papers (30 sheets) – I have a super oily t-zone so blotting papers are great for me!
