Ipsy “Beauty Schooled” – August 2014 Glam Bag

Got my first Ipsy Glam Bag this last week and finally got a chance to play with some of the products this week. I’m not super thrilled with the product set this month, but based on reviews I’ve seen of past months I’ll stick with this subscription and see what next month brings.

J. Cat Beauty Flying Solo Eye Shadow – The eyeshadow is the biggest hit for me. It’s not as orange as it looks; it’s actually pretty sheer and works great as a highlighter. I’m really glad I got this one and may have to check out some of J.Cat’s other products.

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara – The Perversion mascara is ok. I’d just bought the full size at Ulta 2 weeks ago so it’s not a thrilling find. I like the smoothness of the formula, but the brush gets clumped up and it doesn’t do anything for my lashes that a cheaper mascara doesn’t do.

Dr. Brandt Pores No More Pore Refiner – I was most excited for the primer but it didn’t work well for me. It minimized my medium sized pores, but the biggest pores on my nose actually looked worse. It made my foundation kind of pool in them.

Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk – I loved this dry shampoo! It does a great job of soaking up oils without making my hair feel super dry like some other dry shampoos. My only problem with it is the price point. The full size is so expensive and I go through so much dry shampoo that as much as I’d love to make this my usual dry shampoo I can’t afford to keep restocking it at the rate I go through it.

Jersey Shore Sun Mongongo Lip Conditioner – The lip balm was… eh. I don’t need any more chapstick type products. The smell is nice but it tastes like oranges which bugs me.
